Led by Alvin Kamara’s three touchdowns the Saints Sunday moved to 7-2 with a 27-13 win over the San Francisco 49’ers.
The win though didn’t come without a cost, as the team lost quarterback Drew Brees with a rib injury that forced him to sit in the second half, and was replaced by Jameis Winston.

While the ribs and trying to get those to heal are one thing, there’s also a report from NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero that Brees has a shoulder injury that he’s been trying to deal with and get healthy.
The shoulder has limited Brees in practice the last few weeks, and it looks like for now that the QB could sit for a few weeks to get as close to 100 percent as possible.
#Saints QB Drew Brees suffered a rib contusion in yesterday’s game, and he’ll have an MRI for cartilage damage today. But sources tell me and @TomPelissero that New Orleans is bracing for Brees to miss some time to fully heal.

Getting Brees healthy is priority number one for the Saints as they look to win the NFC South and get into a good position for the postseason.
It wouldn’t be a surprise to see Winston get a start or two at the QB spot while Brees gets a chance to allow his shoulder and ribs time to heal.
