You’re thinking….we haven’t had a pre-season game and this guy is already making predictions. The predictions below are based on the Saints offense by and large doing what they usually do (score points and win the time of possession) and the defense being a middle of the pack defense. As I’ve said before , if the Saints can field just an average defense , they should be in the hunt for the playoffs.
That said, check out the predictions and let me know what you think in the comments sections below. Be kind.
DATE | OPPONENT | Observations | Prediction |
Sun, Sept. 11 | vs Raiders | This is a tough way to begin the season. Up and coming team on both sides of the ball. Will be a great test for the Saints on offense and defense but we will see if they are up to to it. | W 1-0 |
Sun, Sept. 18 | at Giants | Giants have a new head coach, it will be interesting to see if the Saints are going to be able to win on the road this year. Squeaker but I’m going with the Saints on this one. | W 2-0 |
Mon, Sept. 26 | vs Falcons | Prime time at Home against the Falcons. Tough interdivisional matchup against the hated Dirty Birds. Gotta go with the WhoDats | W 3-0 |
Sun, Oct. 2 | at Chargers | If the Saints do manage to go 3-0 to start the season, this has all the markings of a “gotcha game. On the road heading into the bye week…… | L 3-1 |
BYE | |||
Sun, Oct. 16 | vs Panthers | Coming off the bye has usually been good to the Saints but this year they are facing the Panthers. Home Game two weeks to prepare. I’m going with the Saints. | W 4-1 |
Sun, Oct. 23 | at Chiefs | Tough road game against a good KC team. Saints could possible have a letdown after an emotional win in Week 6 | L 4-2 |
Sun, Oct. 30 | vs Seahawks | Seahawks, Jimmy comes home, This will be a game where the Saints need to make a statement if they are for real this year. They are and They will. | W 5-2 |
Sun, Nov. 6 | at 49ers | This looks like a winnable road game now. I’m saying it will be a winnable road game in November. | W 6-2 |
Sun, Nov. 13 | vs Broncos | Defending Superbowl Champs at home. It just doesn’t get any better than this. With Denver’s QB situaltion this will be the lowest scoring game of the year. | W 7-2 |
Thu, Nov. 17 | at Panthers | Prime time at the Panthers, Tough divisional road game, I’m trying but I don’t see our guys coming out with a “W” in this one. | L 7-3 |
Sun, Nov. 27 | vs Rams | For whatever reasons playing the Rams in St. Louis has not worked out very well the last few years. This year it’s the LA Rams in the Dome….Saints win. | W 8-3 |
Sun, Dec. 4 | vs Lions | Looks like a down year for the Lions, but they still have Stafford and he’s capable of a big game any week of the year. I’m thinking the Saints take this one. | W 9-3 |
Sun, Dec. 11 | at Buccaneers | Tampa Bay gives our Saints fits every year, won’t be any different this year. | L 9-4 |
Sun, Dec. 18 | at Cardinals | I can’t imagine a tougher job than going into Arizona and coming out with a win this year in the regular season. Not saying it can’t be done. | L 9-5 |
Sat, Dec. 24 | vs Buccaneers | Tampa Bay two out of three weeks. Have to win this one, The Saints will. | W 10-5 |
Sun, Jan. 1 | at Falcons | This could be for the division or for a wild card spot.Huge game. Saints Win! Saints Win! | W 11-5 |

There’s no way the Saints are going to have an 11-5 season. They are primed for a .500-type season (8-8 =/- 1 game).
