NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport states that the Saints and TE Jimmy Graham are in a standstill on contract talks, and he probably is going to get stuck with the franchise tag.
That’s not going to sit well with Graham, who may wind up filing a grievance with the league as he feels he should get paid like a wide receiver, who would no doubt get paid more than a tight end.
Last season he put up monster numbers again, catching 86 passes for 1,215 yards and 16 touchdowns, this after the 27-year-old piled up 85 grabs for 982 and 9 scores the season before.
It’s going to get tricky as Graham has always been tagged as a tight end in his career, and it could be a tough sell to say he should get paid like a wide out.
