After taking a step back and looking at the game last night, it was close to being a perfect game, especially on the offensive side of the ball. Much has been written about the yardage, both passing and running and the total domination of the Cowboys by the Saints. (Boy that felt good writing that)
The one thing that sticks in my mind is Ingram running all over the Cowboys defense. I just can’t help thinking that this is the guy that the Saints drafted, not the other guy who’s been coming to the games wearing the same uniform.
The one thing needed is to take it with a grain of salt. A day after the game the thing to remember is that the Cowboy game is over and the 49ers are coming to town. The same 49ers who have given the Saints fits in recent years and the same 49ers squad who just suffered a loss at home to the Carolina Panthers.
A couple of hours before the Saints had their way with the Cowboys, the Panthers victory over the 49ers made them an official team to be reckoned with. The Saints need a victory to stay one game ahead of the streaking Panthers who answered one of the big questions that I had for them, “Can you win on the road against a quality team?”
So going down the stretch the schedule for the Saints and Panthers looks like this:
|New Orleans Remaining Games||Carolina’s Remaining Games|
|San Francisco||New England|
|@St. Louis||New York Jets|
After looking at the remaining games for both teams, looking back at week 10 was a huge win for the Saints. Should be a wild ride to the finish line December 29th.
