Saints VS Cowboys:Game Preview

A lot has been written about the Saints vs Cowboys. Most of it has been Brees vs Romo, the last team that has the ball will win, or how the Cowboys broke up the Saints streak in 2009 at 13 wins.

It's time for the offensive line to get their game together.

It’s time for the offensive line to get their game together.

This game will depend on the defenses. I’m not saying that the defense’s will dominate the game. But the defense that does the best job in the passing game will probably win. One of the big concerns for both teams is protecting the QB. Brees has been hit often and hurried even more, with Ware coming back for Dallas, pass protection should be at the top of the priority list. Likewise Romo has been hit often and had to play injured at times this season because of the lack of pass protection.

Make no mistake, if the either team can get their running game going it will make a major difference. But the difference is that it would open up the passing game even more.

Dez Bryant is and should be the major factor for the Saints defense when Dallas has the ball. Lewis and company will have their hands full when it comes to Bryant, they have other weapons for sure, but he is where Romo looks when they need a big play.

The receiving corp of the Saints is banged up, but even with Graham and Colston hurting the Saints have plenty of weapons at Brees’s disposal. Moore looks like he’s recovered from his early season hand injury, Meachum was more involved in the offense last week and on any given Sunday Stills is capable of making a big play. Combine them with the short passing attack to Thomas and Sproles and it could make for a lethal combination.
