Although it’s way to early to be looking at the playoff’s, I couldn’t help take a look. If the playoff’s ended today the Saints would be the #2 seed, Seattle would be #1 based on their 7-1 record vs the Saints 6-1 record. A lot could and will probably change before the end of the season.
At this point no one can say they have their division wrapped up, the Saints have the biggest lead among the division leaders. Seattle, Green Bay and Dallas lead their respective divisions.
If The Playoffs Ended Today
Seed | Team | Division | W | L | T |
1 | Seahawks | West | 7 | 1 | 0 |
2 | Saints | South | 6 | 1 | 0 |
3 | Packers | North | 5 | 2 | 0 |
4 | Cowboys | East | 4 | 4 | 0 |
WC1 | 49ers | West | 6 | 2 | 0 |
WC2 | Lions | North | 5 | 3 | 0 |
To summarize it’s way to early to say anyone has a playoff position wrapped, an injury to a key player could take care of that. The Saints have 2 games against the Panthers who are very much in the wild card race and who are only two back of the Saints in the NFC South, plus games against the 49ers and Seahawks coming up.
