One of the 1st things that jumped out at me when I looked at the upcoming Jets game was their record. The Jets are 4-4 on the season, with a 3-1 home record and a 1-3 record on the road. They’ve also been in a rhythm, alternating wins and losses coming up. The bad news about this is that the game is in New York and the Jets were crushed this past week by the Bengals.
The Saints have a week to prepare for a defense that is ranked 6th over all in the league, that’s pretty impressive when you look at the game they just played against the Bengals. For the most part when the defense has been able to keep the game close the offense has done just enough to get some of the wins this year.
Geno Smith has shown that he is capable of making some big plays and at the same time producing rookie mistakes. The Saints will have to prepare for a Quarterback who can do damage with his running ability, much like several of the QB’s the Saints defense will have to face in the second half of the season. Powel and Ivory are their top rushers on the season and Kerley and Hill lead the way among the receivers.
