Saints Gumbo Report

Since it’s been going on two weeks since the last time the Saints suited up and we’ve covered the upcoming game against the Bills in just about every way that I can think of, today’s report will cover the injury report first and then some of the oddball observations that I think are noteworthy.

Coach has had two weeks to think about the Bills game.

Keep an Eye on Carolina
Carolina has been on a roll of late, the head-to-head games against the Saints figure to be huge, especially since both are scheduled for December. The first is a home game for the Saints in Week 14, but it will come after the Saints return from a Monday night game in Seattle. The second is at Carolina in Week 16, outdoors in potentially adverse weather conditions.

Observations:
  • Buffalo is No. 1 in the league with 12 interceptions and No. 4 with 23 sacks, giving them a more stout defense than their 3-4 record indicates.
  • The Saints have not lost a home game with Coach Payton on the sideline since Week 17 against the Buccaneers in 2010.
  • The Saints (5-1) are coming off their first loss of the season in Week 6 to the New England Patriots. They haven’t lost back-to-back games with Coach Payton since Weeks 15-17 of the 2009 season.
