Bill’s Power Rankings

The Saints dropped from #2 to #4 after the loss to the Patriots. It was hard to put the Saints ahead of the Patriots the week after they lost to them, but it is what it is. Seattle could have just as easily been #3 instead of #5, that’s how close I see things between the Saints, Patriots and SeaHawks, it’s all about the home field advantage.

The games last weekend produced few surprises. I have to admit it was hard to put the Chiefs in at #2 this week in my power rankings because in spite of a 6-0 record it just feels like all of the breaks have gone their way. Sometimes that what happens when your having a special season though.

Rank Team W/L Next Game Comments
Broncos 6-0 @Colts No Reason for the Broncos not to be at #1
Chiefs 6-0 Texans Hard to put the Chiefs here, but to this point they have beat everyone they’ve faced.
Patriots 5-1 @Jets Saints fan or not, that was a big win for the Pats. Their defense is for real.
Saints 5-1  Bye Payton and Ryan get an extra week to review where they are. So far the Saints are pretty good.
SeaHawks 5-1 @Cardinals SeaHawks could just have easily have been #3 this week. Tough inter-division game against the Cards coming up.
Bears 4-2 @Redskins Bears are a good home team. They need to start proving it on the road.
Bengals 4-2 @Lions  Bengals look good, in their division though they need to look better.
49ers 4-2 @Titans 49ers rushing game and defense are the strengths of their team. CK needs to look at game tape and stop making commercials.
Lions 4-2 Bengals The Lions are looking like the team they should have been last year. This might be one of the better games to watch this week.
Colts 4-2 Broncos Colts are for real, but how real are they? This is my upset of the week, I think they are good enough to beat Indy at home.
Packers 3-2 Browns Packers have found their running game just in time to get a rash of injuries at the receiver position.
Dolphins 3-2 Bills Dolphins needed the bye week to get the QB healthy. Can they recapture the way they started the season out?
Jets 3-3 Patriots Great defensive play, if the Jets ever find they’re running game they could be a player at the end of the year.
Rams 3-3 @Panthers Biggest problem the Rams have is playing in the NFC West.
Browns 3-3 @Packers Even though they lost to Detroit last week, the Browns are not to be taken lightly.
Titans 3-3 49ers Titans lose Locker then have to play KC, Seattle and now the 49ers. Somehow it doesn’t seem fair.
Ravens 3-3 @Steelers The question each week is which Ravens team will show up.
Eagles 3-3 Cowboys The best thing the Eagles have going for them is that they are playing in the NFC East.
Cardinals 3-3 SeaHawks Cardinals are not a team you take lightly. Good defense and when Palmer is on his game they can play with anyone.
Chargers 3-3 @Jaguars The Chargers are capable of beating anyone, or losing to anyone.
Cowboys 3-3 @Eagles The good news for the Cowboys is this weeks game is for the division lead. The bad news is that it’s between two teams that are 3-3
Bills 2-4 @Dolphins Bills defense and surprising play from the QB positon have made them an interesting team this year. Not good but interesting
Texans 2-4 @Chiefs Surprise team of the year. The problems are not all on the offensive side of the ball.
Raiders 2-4 Bye Good week as any for the Raiders to have a bye week.
Panthers 2-3 Rams As Cam goes, so goes the Panthers.
Steelers 1-4 Ravens Steelers have to feel good about getting a win under their belt. Can they make it 2 in a row?
Falcons 1-4 Buccaneers Falcons at 1-4, Falcons are 1-4, Falcons have one win. I’m trying to say it in a way that makes it sound better but I can’t.
Vikings 1-4 @Giants Will Freeman start and how will he play. Two questions that will go a long way to determining the rest of the Vikings season.
Redskins 1-4 Bears Redskins found their offense last week, their defense apparently is still being effected by the government shutdown.
Buccaneers 0-5 @Falcons If the Jags aren’t going to sign Tebow, the Bucs should see what he can do.
Giants 0-6 Vikings Wow……Just Wow….
Jaguars 0-6 Chargers I think the Jags are capable of winning a game this year….
Bye – Raiders, Saints
