Saints at the Patriots: Gameday Notes

Coming into the game today the Patriots are ranked 21st in passing offense and 14th in rushing offense, but they are 4-1 and lead the NFC east. That is what the Saints coaches and players have been focusing on all week, the Patriots know how to win even when times are tough.

The Saints are 5-0 despite being ranked 29th in scoring touchdowns while in the red zone, but like New England they lead their division. The Saints have dominated the time of possession stats in all of their games so far this season.

Ryan's defense will have to be on top of their game against Brady and company.

Ryan’s defense will have to be on top of their game against Brady and company.

One reason why both teams have been able to stay on top has been the play of their defenses, especially when it comes to keeping the other team from scoring. The Patriots are ranked #2 and the Saints are ranked #4 in scoring defense.

I see this game coming down to two things. Which offense is able to be the most efficient with what the other team is giving them and which defense can come up with the most turnovers to help the offense.

Weather should not be a factor as it is projected to be around 60 degrees at game time with no rain.

So put on your Saints gear Saints fans and enjoy a great game. Even with playing in New England against Brady and company, my prediction is that the Saints will come out on top.
