The Saints have agreed to terms on a new contract with longtime special teams standout Courtney Roby, his agent Mark Bloom confirmed according to Mike Triplett of the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports. Terms of the deal are not known.
Roby, who has been with the Saints since 2008, was the team’s special teams captain last year. He has been especially valuable on kickoff and punt coverage. In the past, the 30-year-old also served as the team’s kickoff returner and an emergency option as a backup receiver.
He returned a blocked punt for a touchdown in Week 1 last season against the Redskins.
