Off the Hook – Four Current and Former Saints Players Suspensions Overturned in “Bounty Program”

All along the four current and former Saints players that were suspended for their involvement in “bounty gate” have stated that they were innocent of what they were accused of.

Friday, they were finally able to celebrate what they felt all along.

Jonathan Vilma, Will Smith, Scott Fujita and Anthony Hargrove all had their suspensions overturned for their involvement in the Saints “bounty” program. The suspensions were overturned by a three-member appeal panel, a union source said.

“Consistent with the panel’s decision, Commissioner Goodell will, as directed, make an expedited determination of the discipline imposed for violating the league’s pay-for-performance/bounty rule,” the NFL said in a statement. “Until that determination is made, the four players are reinstated and eligible to play starting this weekend.”

Vilma was suspended the entire 2012 regular season, Hargrove for eight games, Smith for four games and Browns linebacker Fujita three games.

“I’m not surprised,” quarterback Drew Brees said, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune. “Obviously I felt like they saw the information that we’ve seen for a long time.”

Suspensions for coaches Sean Payton, Gregg Williams and Joe Vitt and general manager Mickey Loomis are still active. The coaches weren’t eligible for a collective bargaining panel.

Vilma took to Twitter and wrote, “Victory is mine!!!! -stewie griffin.”

Though I am truly happy for these players, I feel as “One for All and All for One” needs to come into play. Roger Goodell and the NFL need to let go of this. They also need to let Coach Sean Payton come back to where he belongs and that is with the New Orleans Saints. Enough is enough. They have had years but they wait until New Orleans host a Super Bowl? Who is playing dirty now while getting paid to do it? I expect that Goodell think about all of this and remember that the Lord does not like ugly.

    No Exceptions…

Post Script – My Mom would not like ugly either. She passed away one year to the very day the Saints won the Super Bowl. She was born and raised in New Orleans. She was a Saint and everyone would agree. This whole mess will work out but she has got her work cut out for her.

The Saints arent playing thats what the deal is. Except for a few ‘new’ players they have most of the same guys. Honestly..this is a sabotage and it doeant have anything to do with the ‘bounty’ crap. They r the same guys that stopped cam newton last year, beat the hell out of the redskins too. So wheres this comin’ from? Drew had windows where he couldve ran & didnt, he threw the ball away. So whats the money for? To make records? Whats up with that?
