Raiders Denied Permission To Speak To Saints DL Coach Johnson

The Raiders were denied permission to interview defensive line coach Bill Johnson for their defensive coordinator position, James Varney of The Times-Picayune reports. Johnson, 56, has spent the last three seasons with the Saints and has spent 11 of his 31-year coaching career in the NFL.

Before working for the Saints, Johnson coached defensive lines with the Denver Broncos (2007-08) and Atlanta Falcons (2001-06). Raiders head coach Dennis Allen coached with Johnson in both New Orleans and Atlanta, where Allen assisted Johnson in working with the Falcons’ defensive line.
