Saints Sign Six Undrafted Free Agents

QB Ryan Colburn, Fresno State – One of the hardest working players on the team … had been a terror in the weight room to get himself ready to compete become a highly successful Division I quarterback… has a strong arm and has shown the ability to take off and run when needed … has good leadership skills and showed tremendous improvement as the season progressed … threw 12 touchdowns and only four interceptions over his last nine games of the 2009 season … a strong student, was named Academic All-WAC and earned his degree in Plant Science in May.

WR John Chiles, Texas – Four-year letterman who made the switch to wide receiver from quarterback prior to 2009 spring drills … served as Colt McCoy’s top backup for two seasons … played in 41 games (19 at QB/22 at WR), starting 15 as a wide receiver … notched 65 receptions for 752 yards (11.6 ypc) and four TDs for his career … completed 12-of-22 passes for 166 yards and two TDs … gained 377 rushing yards on 91 attempts with four TDs … appeared in 11 games, starting eight as a senior in 2010 … caught 29 passes for 418 yards (14.4 ypc) and two TDs, while rushing twice for 18 yards

WR Joe Morgan, Walsh – 2010: Morgan caught a team-leading 41 passes for 653 yards and five touchdowns despite battling a high ankle sprain from the third game on. He closed the year healthy and tied a team mark with ten catches in the season finale at Marian…2009: Made an immediate impact at wide receiver and on special teams…second-team All-MSFA Mideast at wide receiver despite missing two games due to a separated shoulder suffered in win over Malone

WR Jarred Fayson, Illinois – 2009: Played in nine games, starting five … Totaled a career-best 67 yards on two catches, including a career-long 55-yarder against No. 5 Cincinnati … Returned from a knee injury and hauled in two catches for 29 yards and returned one punt eight yards against Northwestern … Had one catch for three yards in win over Minnesota … Missed the Indiana and Purdue games with a quad/knee injury … Had three punt returns for 6.7 yards per return against Michigan State … Caught his first touchdown in an Illinois uniform with his 17-yard reception against Penn State

LB Jeremiha Hunter, Iowa – Became 63rd Iowa player to reach 200 career tackles with two tackles in win over Ball State . . . recorded 269 career stops to rank 20th in career tackles . . . averaged 7.5 tackles per game to tie for ninth in the Big Ten for all games.

S DeAndre McDaniel, Clemson
– 2010: First-Team All-ACC… has a team-high 73 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, a team-high four interceptions, and six pass breakups…a big reason Clemson is in the top 10 in the nation in scoring defense and is the only ACC team in the top four in the ACC in rushing defense and passing defense…had a team-high 11 tackles against North Texas…2009: Had eight interceptions and 102 tackles in 2009. The interception total was tied for third in the nation and he was the only player in college football last year with at least eight interceptions and at least 100 tackles
