Brees Pleased with Progress of Talks Between Players and Owners

Saints QB Drew Brees seems to be happy with the way talks have been going recently between the players and owners, as more and more excitement grows about a possible deal getting done soon.

Negotiations took place this week, and Brees was on hand in Chicago for them, and commented that he thinks the two sides are coming closer to getting a deal done.

“I know that we’ve been talking pretty extensively over the last few weeks,” said Brees, one of 10 players whose names are on an antitrust lawsuit against the league. “It seems like things are moving in the right direction, which is very positive. It’s what we always hoped for as players because obviously we’re getting to crunch time here.”

The so-called experts seem to think that something will get done by the end of the month, meaning that the league will not miss training camp nor any games in 2011.
