Saints Say They Are Not Interested in Moving to Toronto

A report from Thescore.com in Toronto earlier today indicated that the Saints and Jaguars might be in play to possibly move to Toronto. Today, the Saints issued a statement to squash that rumor.

“Reports about the Saints as a potential team moving to Toronto are completely false. The New Orleans Saints are committed to the city of New Orleans,” said Greg Bensel, Vice President of Communications. Also James Varney of the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports the team’s long-term lease in the Superdome, signed in 2009, runs through 2025 and Greg Bensel noted, with a 5-year option on top of that, the Saints intend to, “have our team playing in front of the greatest fans in the NFL for many years to come.”
