RB Thomas Set to Be Ready for Training Camp

RB Pierre Thomas, who underwent surgery in January on the ankle injury that sidelined him for 10 games last season, is on schedule to be ready for training camp — if the labor issues are resolved by then, general manager Mickey Loomis said.

“The report I had last week was that he was doing well, doing real well in terms of where he expected to be and where we expected him to be,” Loomis said, “and we expect him to be ready when training camp opens.”

Loomis noted there may have been more adversity in getting the contract done because of frustration over the amount of time Thomas was sidelined, but he was glad to have the five-year veteran signed. “Pierre’s been a great contributor to our team for a good period of time, and it was important for us to get him re-signed,” Loomis said. “We’re looking forward to having him back at full strength.”
