Saints Promote Tony Oden To Secondary Coach

The Saints have promoted assistant secondary coach Tony Oden to secondary coach, Brian Allee-Walsh of NewOrleans.com reports. Oden has been the team’s assistant secondary coach since the 2006 season, and replaces Dennis Allen, who left the team to become the Denver Broncos defensive coordinator. “Oden has been a tireless worker and is a very talented staff member.

Whenever we can promote from within, we feel it pays big dividends,” Saints head coach Sean Payton told Allee-Walsh on Sunday. Prior to joining the Saints, Oden spent two seasons as the assistant defensive backs coach with the Houston Texans. Oden coached at the college level at Eastern Michigan, East Carolina, Army, and Boston college.
