Porter is a pivotal playmaker in the Saints secondary
It’s a different New Orleans offense when Thomas is in action
Super Bowl hero Tracy Porter suffered a partially torn MCL in the Saints victory over Carolina on Sunday. Porter is expected to miss 2-4 weeks. Through four games, Tracy has registered 17 tackles, collecting one pick. Randall Gay is likely to take his place opposite the side of Jabari Greer.
As for Pierre Thomas, he was inactive during last week’s triumph over the Panthers. He was a game-time scratch, a surprisingly late decision by Sean Payton. Today he was held out of practice due to an ankle and knee injury. The knee issue is actually a “new” thing, just made known to the media by coach Payton on Wednesday.
Coach said the “knee is better” and the “swelling has gone down”. Chris Ivory and Ladell Betts will continue see the majority of the work load if he is unable to participate this week in Arizona. Keep in mind, Reggie Bush could return to the field as soon as Week 7, October 24 at home against Cleveland.
Reggie’s rapid recovery: “With the progress I’ve made, I think it’s maybe closer to the four-week range,”
“It wasn’t as serious as I think probably everybody thought,” Bush said.
“No cast, no wrap,” he said. “I was on crutches for maybe three days just to keep the pressure off of it. I went to the crutch for one day, and then I was completely off of it.”
Best bet: October 31, Sunday night for Pittsburgh in the Superdome.
Get better soon, guys! We need you!!!!!!!
