Thomas to see a bigger workload with Bush on the bench

Now that Reggie Bush is gone for awhile, the one player that can expect to see a lot more playing time is Pierre Thomas, which is what PFW points out as well.

With Reggie Bush expected to be out for about another five weeks or so while his broken leg heals, word is Saints RB Pierre Thomas will play more snaps. Thomas has already proven he can handle a heavy workload – which is part of the reason the team is confident about its chances of winning without one of its big-play threats – but the added attention Thomas will receive with Bush sidelined comes at an opportune moment for Thomas. He stayed away from some offseason practices, hoping Saints GM Mickey Loomis would offer him a long-term deal to his liking, but no multiyear contract was worked out, and Thomas signed his one-year restricted free-agent tender. The uncertainty about the Collective Bargaining Agreement was an obstacle for those seeking new deals, especially for players like Thomas who had only three accrued seasons, but he has a chance to significantly help his bargaining power for next offseason while Bush recovers
