Saints Contribute To Oil Spill Relief Fundraiser

Coach Sean Payton and the entire Saints offensive line are lending their hands and their creativity to help raise money for Louisiana families hit hard by the Deepwater Horizon oil well explosion. The Homebuilders Association of Greater New Orleans, in conjunction with Catholic Charities, is sponsoring a fundraiser that will occur during the inaugural launch of the New Orleans Home + Interior Design Show scheduled for September 17-19 at the Morial Convention Center.

Coach Payton and the players have hand decorated white shrimp boots and donated them to the fundraiser. The coach has also signed some memorabilia as lagniappe to go with his boots. These three boots, along with about 30 others done by local and national celebrities, will be raffled off on Sunday, September 19, 2010 at 4:00pm. Tickets are $5.00 each with all proceeds going to the Catholic Charities Gulf Oil Fund. Tickets are available online via the website until this Friday. After that, they can only be purchased at the show. For more information, go to the website at  http://www.neworleanshomeshows.com/homeanddesignshow/gulfspillfundraiser.html .

These unique items are the perfect way to snag a wonderful piece of Louisiana/regional history and to show your support for families in need.
