Clint Ingram Coming To New Orleans?

The Saints may just be adding another LB to the defense pretty soon.

Reports now indicate that LB Clint Ingram is interested in playing for the defending Super Bowl Champions. Ingram visited New Orleans shortly after the NFL Draft, but no offer was made. However, Ingram’s old team, the Jacksonville Jaguars, recently removed their tender offer for the restricted free agent linebacker, meaning he is now free to sign with any team he wishes and the Jaguars will not receive any compensation for signing away Ingram.

No terms of the offer were disclosed.

Ingram started 12 games for the Jaguars last season, compiling 52 tackles and 1 sack. In his four year career with the Jaguars, he has made 194 tackles, 5.5 sacks, 1 forced fumble, and 2 interceptions, one which was returned for a touchdown.

While Ingram possess good instinct, size and above average speed for a player his size, he can be inconsistent at times, especially stopping the passing game. One thing he definitely going for him is his understanding of the Saints defense, as Ingram played under Gregg Williams in 2008 before Williams was hired by the Saints.

  1. John two-dat Young says:

we need to add at the LB position after fujitas departure to bolster our run defence, but imo ingram is too small, we need a beast, a hard-hitting lineman who can knock people out. ingrams not that kind of player, hes too small. we need a clone of fujita or something
