2010 NFL Gridiron Gab NFL Mock Draft: #27 Dallas

The Dallas Cowboys are back! The Cowboys look to return to glory after a number of lackluster seasons. The Cowboys will enter the new season with a lot of certainties. Wade Phillips is back on the sideline. Troy Romo is back after a Pro Bowl season. Demarcus Ware is healthy and ready to go. The Cowboys expect a lot of great things this season. Can the cowboys become the first team to play in the Super Bowl at home this season?

And with the 27th pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys select..

OT Anthony Davis, Rutgers

Alex Weston of CowboysGabs presents his selection

At 27, the Cowboys pick OT Anthony Davis from Rutgers. With the release of Flozell Adams the Cowboys desperately need depth at the tackle position and Davis is a beast, just like Jerry Jones likes em.

Agreed. The Cowboys will need to draft a gifted OT to protect Tony Romo’s blind side.

New Era scouting presents this report on Davis..

Anthony Davis has a very good shot at being the first tackle taken this April. He certainly looks the part at 6’6/325 pounds, but he is more than just a sexy prospect from the naked eye. He is one of the more powerful linemen in this class and that should get him on the field right away. He has more than enough athleticism to get by and with some good coaching, his technique will evolve the point where he can be a Pro-Bowl caliber left tackle. He has battled some minor weight issues and been benched on two separate occasions for violating team rules, so there will need to be some investigating in to his character and work ethic.
