2010 NFL Gridiron Gab Mock Draft: #13 San Francisco

The 49ers who? Is it me or have we not heard much from these guys in a long time? The 49ers have had a pretty quiet offseason so far and are looking to address some needs in this year’s draft. Will Mike Singletary draft some help along the offensive line? Or will the defensive minded coach add another defensive piece to the puzzle?

And with the thirteenth pick of the NFL Draft, the San Francisco 49ers select..

CB Joe Haden, Florida

NFL Gridiron Gab writer DJ Boursiquot breaks down the Niners options at this point..

With the Niners acquiring Ted Ginn Jr. from a trade with Miami, the 49ers brass is no longer enticing the idea of drafting electrifying Clemson running back, C.J. Spiller. With that in mind, the 49ers shore up their secondary by selecting cornerback Joe Haden from Florida, a player that the 49ers believed would be off the board at this point.

Devon Heinen of SeahawksGab offers this analysis of what Haden brings to the Niners defense

San Francisco is a smash-mouth football team that needs to address a pass defense unit that ranked 21st in the league last year in average passing yards allowed per game. Haden is clocked at 4.46 in the 40-yard dash, but he’s heralded even more for his ball and coverage skills. The University of Florida product is a perfect fit for 49ers head coach Mike Singletary’s type of hard-knocks play.

Let’s see what’s going on so far…
