Saints Opening Opponent Announced

Commisioner Roger Goodell announced just minutes ago in an NFL.com chat that the Saints will play the Minnesota Vikings in the opening game of the 2010 season Sept. 9th in the Superdome.

Who else is excited? An NFC Championship rematch to open the season- what a way to start the season. It should also be the unveiling of the Super Bowl Championship banner.

“I will get in trouble from our scheduling makers for releasing this in advance, but the Saints will be hosting the Minnesota Vikings for our Kickoff game. It should be a great celebration in a great city,” Goodell said in his NFL.com chat.

Wow. Bold move by the NFL. Crazy to think that the first game we play next season will be a rematch of the last game we played in the dome. I wonder who our newly re-vamped defensive line will be trying to sack in this game… Favre or no Favre?
