Posted in The Times-Picayune reports today that the Saints have offered a second-round tender to OT Jermon Bushrod:
The New Orleans Saints have offered a second-round tender to restricted free agent offensive tackle Jermon Bushrod, according to his agent Richard Rosa. By making the qualifying offer of one year and $1.684 million, the Saints will have the right to match any deal Bushrod might sign with another team. And if they choose to let him sign with another team, they would receive a second-round draft pick as compensation.
Pierre Thomas is one of the players the Saints MUST keep around. I feel Darren Sharper is the unrestricted guy who MUST stay around, but I understand why the Saints didn’t franchise him… I just don’t agree with it. While Sharper would be a one-more-year guy, Pierre Thomas should be locked down long-term… sooner than later. Other RFAs that MUST stay around are G Jahri Evans, T Zach Strief, TE David Thomas, DT Anthony Hargrove, and WR Lance Moore.
