Super Bowl Fun Facts

With one week until the big game between the Indianapolis Colts and New Orleans Saints, I thought it would be neat to punch out an article on some really interesting Super Bowl facts that some people may not or may know.

  • The Buffalo Bills and Minnesota Vikings have had four trips to the Super Bowl and never won. In the Bills case, they went four straight times with two of the losses back-to-back against the Dallas Cowboys.
  • The San Francisco 49ers have been to the Super Bowl five times and have never lost. Their dominant years were in the 1980’s with Super Bowl victories in 81’, 84’, 88’, 89’, and 94’!
  • Although the Dallas Cowboys hold the record for the most trips to the Super Bowl

(8, 5-3), the Pittsburgh Steelers have won the most Super Bowl’s at 6 (Their Super Bowl          record is 6-1).

  • There are still four teams that haven’t been to the Super Bowl (Browns, Lions, Jaguars, and Texans).
  • The Patriots played three of their six Super Bowl games in the Louisiana Superdome and the Indianapolis Colts have played all four of their Super Bowl’s in Miami , Florida .
  • Miami ’s football stadium was changed from the “Land Shark Stadium” to “Sun Life Stadium” as of January 18th because of a signed contract with Sun Life Financial. (Not Super Bowl related but I thought it was interesting).
  • The Green Bay Packers won the first two Super Bowl’s.

Well, there is a little information to increase your Super Bowl IQ. I hope that you learned a thing or two and that you enjoyed this article.

I saw your post and thought, “how could someone be so damn ignorant?” Then I realized that your grammer scores in school, must have matched your IQ. Dumbass! How do you feel about your colts now? Just got your asses handed to you, by YES, the team that hasn’t won (or appeared) in a superbowl in 43 years. I guess that makes our winning pct better than yours. Have a nice offseason wondering why your qb has a 9-9 record in the post season! How could this have happened to your team? Instead take a spelling class and work on your education. It will at least help you post a more credible comment. Sorry, it won’t help your mental state of your opinions on your 2nd class organization. I’ll leave you with a big ole “WHO DAT,” and tell you to eat shit! Saints are World Champions, and Drew has just as many superbowl wins, as your boy! Ha! Loser!

will be the 44th Super Bowl. Obama is the 44th President, there are 44 days from Christmas to the Superbowl, the Saints franchise is 44 years old. On Super Bowl Sunday it will be 4 years and 4 months since katrina. The Saints won in 4 minutes and 44 seconds of overtime……… thats destiny

  5. Saints says:

    Wow, that’s dumb….
