Injury Updates

Time to start focusing on the business at hand and focus on the Super Bowl.

First, the Saints came out relatively healthy after Sunday’s game against the Vikings. The only major injury for the Saints came on Courtney Roby’ fourth quarter kickoff return. Sean  Payton said in a Monday press conference that Roby’s “dinged” knee  was not serious and he expected Roby to play in the Super Bowl.

In other injury news, RB Lynell Hamilton’s sprained ankle will not keep him on the sideline for this week’s practices leading up to the game. TE Jeremy Shockey is expected to practice with the team when they resume preparation for the Super Bowl on Thursday.

CB Malcolm Jenkins may miss some practice time this week with his lingering hamstring problems, but is expected to be on the active roster for the Super Bowl.

The Saints resume practice starting Thursday. Drew Brees and the rest of the Pro Bowl players leave for Miami on Sunday, with the rest of the team joining them on Monday.
