Roster Moves and Injury Updates

The Saints returned to practice Wednesday in preparation for Sunday’s NFC showdown with the Vikings.

Four Saints players sat out practice with injuries. CB Malcolm Jenkins (hamstring), S Darren Sharper (knee), TE Jeremy Shockey (knee), and WR Robert Meachem (ankle) did not participate. No player has been ruled out of Sunday’s game. Sharper, who has soreness in his knees, has customarily sat out practices in the second half of the season to rest up before a game. Shockey, it is believed, has a bruised knee and has had treatment all week. Meachem has made progress with his injured ankle all week and participated in walk throughs earlier that morning.

As an insurance if Meachem can not play, the Saints moved practice squad WR Adrian Arrington to the active roster. Arrington is a fast down field threat whom the Saints like. He was on course to make the team in 2008 before an injury derailed those plans.

The Saints also signed former LSU DT Marlon Favorite to the practice squad. The Gretna native is with his fifth team this season.
