Saints Roll over Cardinals and Head to the NFC Championship

After an outstanding performance against the Packers last week, the Cardinals felt good and confident traveling to New Orleans, and on the first play from scrimmage Tim Hightower took it seventy yards to the house to put the Cardinals up seven in twenty seconds. Brees and Company wouldn’t just bum out from the sidelines though. After a well put together drive the Saints would score as Hamilton pounded it into the end zone to tie up the score.

The Saints defense would then have its way with the Cardinals offense with two (almost three) interceptions and a fumble. The Saints defense played extremely aggressive like we had been seeing in the beginning of the season. Warner got licked plenty of times and one particular time put him out for a while. There was nothing the Cards could in the second-half as they got shutout and didn’t even come close to a comeback attempt.

On the flip side, the Saints offense would never be denied some kind of points. There was a flea-flicker, methodical drives, and big runs. Drew Brees played a near perfect game with his three touchdowns, no interceptions, 247 yards, and he completed 72 percent of his passes. In the run game, Reggie Bush may have saved his career with the Saints. He ran a huge 46 yard touchdown run and a beautiful 83 yard punt return.

The Saints played a 100 percent perfect game and if they keep playing this aggressive we will definitely see the Black and Gold in the Superbowl.
