Free Safety Young Arrested on Traffic Violations

The Times-Picayune reports that Saints defensive back Usama Young was arrested on Monday on traffic violations:

New Orleans Saints defensive back Usama Young is out on bond after his arrest Monday in Harahan on traffic violations.

Young, 24, was booked with reckless operation of a motor vehicle and flight from an officer using a motor vehicle, according to arrest records. He was also booked on a municipal traffic attachment.

The traffic stop occurred about 3:14 a.m. Monday at the intersection of Jefferson Highway and Colonial Club Drive when Harahan police officers clocked Young going 55 miles per hour in 40-mile-per-hour zone, according to Harahan Police Chief Peter Dale.

“They got behind him, they put on the lights and sirens and he went about a half-mile before he pulled over,” said Dale, explaining the flight from an officer charge. “He didn’t give them any trouble. He was cooperative.”
