Saints 2nd round Pick and Starting CB Out for the Season
Posted by Jean-Paul Bergeaux on October 9th, 2008 filed in Injuries, NewsThe Saints announced that Rookie stand-out Tracy Porter needed surgery to repair a dislocated wrist. Porter had been impressive as a rookie, winning the starting CB spot across from Mike McKenzie. Due to the surgery, Porter was placed on season ending Injured Reserve. This means that Randall Gay will probably step up as the starting corner opposite of Mike McKenzie. Currently that would put much maligned Jason David as the nickel back. Second year cornerback Usama Young will more than likely be in the mix as well. Aaron Glenn would be in consideration for some nickel or dime duty, but hasn’t been 100% since his ankle injury against the Redskins in week 2.
