Tony I totally agree with you,the main factor for this season is the health of the players on the team.

Jesse, I think your correct in stating that Hall would have vastly improved our team. The problem is that he was wayyyy too expensive. We had to spit out money to pay for Ellis, Colston and Smith. I just dont think we would have had enough cap room to sign him and all our other guys. Plus im not sure if he is Paytons type of guy. I love his tallent but the price wasnt right. P.S I hope we can still get Lito but its not gonna happen.

Tony,
Injuries are key to any club's success. But our Saints have invested the '08 season in too many wounded key contributors for dependency. I'm hoping our young players can step up and allow us to forego our hopes for the veteran wounded. If they step up we son't need the Deuces' of the team.

Please let me know what you think Tony. And trust me i know Hall is overrated and a loud mouth at times. I just feel McKenzie could relate to him and he would buy into Payton and the Saints attitude and really help us at the 1 or 2 CB position, and i feel adding him to our defense would help the defense more then adding Shockey to our offense is going to help our offense.

I dont understand why we did not trade for deangelo hall or lito shepard????? I really feeled for what the Raiders got Hall for (pretty much same thing we got Shockey for) i honestly rhink he would done more the team as a whole as the gaining of Shockey would (and i feel Shockey is going to really make Bush be something in this league and also open up Colston to do even more damage in the endzone, so i dont think getting Shockey is not a good thing at all ). I just feel having a really good corner opposite McKenzie with our pass rush we have the potential to have would .... i dunno - complete us....

Well Buh-n-law I think you are right, i think Randall has the best shot stealing the spot. If you read Mr Jean Pauls article on camp, he seems to be making alot of plays. I originally had our rookie stealing it but he has been hurt and has not had the opportunity to show off his stuff.

We need to be healthy on both sides of the ball to be a factor this season.

For those who have read this article, please be sure to write me what you think about it. Also let me know what you think about the current injuries that have happened so far in training camp. Thanks!

Saw you mentioned in one of your earlier posts about the need to have that #2 spot filled at corner. What do you think about Randall Gay? He's gotten a good bit of exposure/experience in his 1st few years and held up pretty well considering the role he filled. What's your take Bruh-n-law?
