Saints And Cardinals Meet For Important NFC Matchup
Posted by Matt Loede on December 14th, 2007 filed in NewsTwo teams very much alive in the NFC playoff picture will lock up this week when the Cardinals face the Saints at the Superdome. Both teams are 6-and-7 and one game behind Minnesota for the final wild card spot. The Saints have slim hopes of a division title, but a Buccaneers win this week would end that. New Orleans beat the Atlanta Falcons 34-14 last week on Monday Night Football. Drew Brees threw three touchdown passes as the Saints won for just the second time in five games. The Cardinals fell 42-21 to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 14. Kurt Warner threw a career-high five interceptions and was sacked five times in the loss. The Cardinals are hunting for the team’s second postseason appearance in 25 years. Arizona is just 2-and-5 on the road this season. The Cardinals won the last meeting between the two teams.
