Posted by Matt Loede on December 10th, 2007 filed in NewsThe Saints’ playoff hopes will be on the line when they battle the Falcons on Monday Night Football at the Georgia Dome. New Orleans is 5-and-7 and barely hanging on in the NFC playoff race. The Saints are 3-and-3 on the road this season, but have dropped three of their last four games. Drew Brees threw two touchdowns but the Saints managed just 246 total yards in a 27-23 loss to the division-leading Buccaneers in Week 13.
New Orleans won’t have the services of running back Reggie Bush, who could miss the rest of the season with a partially torn ligament in his left knee. At 3-and-9, the Falcons are in last place in the NFC South. Atlanta has dropped three in-a-row, but two of its three wins this season have come at home. Chris Redman replaced an ineffective Joey Harrington at quarterback and threw for 172 yards and two scores in the Falcons’ 28-16 loss to the Rams last week. The Saints won the first meeting this season 22-16 in Week Seven.
