Payton Contacted by Michigan About Coaching Opening

Could coach Sean Payton be on his way out of New Orleans and into the arms of the Michigan Wolverines?  That’s the big question as the 43-year-old coach has heard from the U of M about their coaching opening, and to date he’s the only head coach in the NFL that has been contacted by Michigan.  “They’ve expressed interest,” a source told the Detroit News. “There was interest in Sean using ‘unofficial’ intermediaries.”  Payton and the Saints have had a down season, but it’s unlikely that he would leave the Big Easy to head up North to coach the Wolverines.
