Schutt Sports Review

The following is a paid review:

Saints running back Reggie Bush is proud to be a player on board with “Team Schutt” a company looking out for the future of football players all over the country. Team Schutt is thinking safety and comfort for those that take the gridiron with their new helmet they have designed.  The helmet is used by numerous NFL players, and has a  new piece of equipment that has safety at the forefront. The Schutt ION 4D helmet has many features that is drawing many positive reviews from players across the country. The helmet has on it is a faceguard that is actually on the helmet shell, not attached to it, as well as the faceguard has shock absorbing “Energy Wedges” that take away the force of impacts to the faceguard.

Bush commented on the company and the strides they are making. “Schutt has been the brand I have trusted throughout my college and pro careers because they are at the forefront of equipment research and design, and use the latest materials available to help prevent head injuries. I am concerned about the number of severe concussions impacting NFL players. That is why I look forward to helping Team Schutt in a product advisory capacity to help continue to push technology to the next level.”

In terms of the faceguards, this new Schutt ION 4D model is stronger than others, and it lasts longer than older versions of current faceguards. The helmet also uses a new type of cushioning material known as SKYDEX, the padding in the helmet is much better than the old traditional padding. The SKYDEX2 is yet another type of cushioning that the helmet can use that outperforms traditional foam in every aspect of helmet performance.

With comfort also at the top of the list for today’s players, The ION 4D fits right after it comes out of the box meaning having to wear it in by using it week after week is not necessary. The shell of the helmet is designed to be smaller in appearance to make it look better than the bigger helmets. Along with Bush and other numerous players wearing the helmet, there are 11 top college programs that are active in wearing the helmet, including Virginia, Syracuse, and Penn State.
