Saints TE Mark Campbell Out for Season

The New Orleans Saints have placed their starting TE Mark Campbell on injured reserve for the rest of the season. Campbell’s injury is an undisclosed disc problem in his back. His back began to stiffen up and hurt towards the end of the pre-season. The injury has kept Campbell out of practice for weeks. The Saints training staff has tried a variety of treatments from just resting his back to injections and nothing has relieved the pain in Campbell’s back.

Taking Campbell’s place on the active roster is rookie QB Tyler Palko, a player who many were surprised to see cut prior to the start of the regular season. Palko had been on the Saints practice squad.
